Little Ninjas Programme
4-6 yrs

Benefits
Graduations

Our Academy provides the most exciting and innovative programmes YOU and YOUR child will ever experience in the area of child development. When answering the question, “What do you expect your child to gain from the study of the Little Ninjas Programme?” the majority of parents indicate that they want their children to learn the values taught at the Academy - Self-control, concentration, respect, responsibility, self-discipline, and more. If you are a parent searching for ways to counterbalance the negative messages bombarding your children from movies, television and other areas, search no further!

Our Little Ninjas Programme is an age-specific curriculum that we have professionally designed to teach children important life skills in a fun, exciting and enriching manner.  Your child will achieve more than just learning to kick and punch. Our programme will help improve your child’s basics motor skills, as well as your child’s positive mental attitude. Our teaching method is based on disguising martial arts skills into games and fun activities helping your child learn in an easy and exciting way.

Here are the 8 main Life Skills
that are taught in the Little Ninjas Programme:

- Focus  - Memory
- Teamwork - Discipline
- Control - Fitness
- Balance - Co-ordination
These skills are necessary for participation in any sport or activity.  Upon completion of our Little Ninjas Programme your child will become focused and motivated to achieve any goal in life.

The 8 Little Ninjas Skills

1.   Focus - this skill will help your child's aim, listening and reaction skills. They will excel faster in physical activities, become a better listener and more focused at school.

2.   Teamwork - essential for building character, which will help your child to make friends and become a better leader.

3.   Control - having control means making good decisions. Control builds confidence.

4.   Balance - your child is starting to participate in activities that require balance, like riding a bicycle.  Developing this skill at an early age will help them in many activities and aids good posture development.

5.    Memory - a child's brain needs exercise just as much as their body.  Memory development is good exercise for your child's brain.  Our exercises are constantly helping your child think and make good decisions.

6.   Discipline - our programme uses the Little Ninja drills to help create the vision that discipline is fun and rewarding.  Your child will learn to take pride in doing the right thing. (This stripe is awarded by showing a demonstration of blackbelt attitude: Courtesy to everybody, enthusiasm in class, willingness to help others and to be the best they can be, in class, home and school).

7.   Fitness - it's important in the age of computer games, for a child to understand the importance of being healthy and physically fit.  If you child can’t burn off all that extra energy exercising, how will they burn it off?

8.   Co-ordination - your child will learn left from right. They will become less clumsy in their movements and will find an all round improvement in their performance in many activities.

The Little Ninjas curriculum specifies one skill per class in order to fully develop each skill. The drills are designed as games so that your Little Ninja has fun & learns the Ninja Skills without even realising it.

 Progressing through the syllabus

The Little Ninja belt colours start from White through to Red Stripe.  The Skill Stripe system allows the Little Ninja to have regular smaller assessments, which result in the awarding of a particular stripe/badge.  Each Ninja level has a specified number of skill stripes (one for each Ninja Skill).  The Little Ninja must collect all of these before advancement to the next Ninja level.

The Little Ninjas start our programme in the Beginners class which is held on Wed & Fri 4:00-4:45pm and after completion of their first 3 belts, will transfer into our Advanced Class which is held on Tues & Thurs 5:00-5:45pm.  Membership provides training twice a week and we recommend students to attend both classes where possible in order to fully benefit from the programme.

Little Ninja Graduation

Once all Skill Stripes and Merit Badges have been awarded, the Little Ninja will be ready for Graduation to the next level.  Parents will be invited to the Graduation, along with family and friends in order to make it a special occasion for the Little Ninja.  We held our first graduation in July 2002.  Click here for details.

At the graduation, students will perform all the skills and techniques once again and upon completion, will be awarded their new belt and certificate showing their promotion.

On completion of the Little Ninjas Programme, the Little Ninja will have developed all the necessary skills and personal development requirements to participate in the Kickin' Kids Programme.
