Senior Class (16yrs+)
The Korean Kickboxing Programme has been developed from the sport side of Taekwon-Do with the additional range of boxing skills that provide a very dynamic, effective fighting style.  Korean Kickboxing students compete in light and full contact kickboxing events in both open mat or ring sport formats.  Although classed as a sport, Korean Kickboxing very much maintains the martial art ethics of respect, honesty, perseverance, discipline and spirit. In Korean Kickboxing you will achieve a high level of fitness, flexibility and conditioning that will develop high self esteem and confidence.
A true martial art of course, is much more than that as it must teach, along with proper technique, courtesy, honesty, perseverance, discipline and courage.

Our Korean Kickboxers who have come from our Taekwon-Do ranks, have successfully competed in WKA, IAKSA and WAKO light and full contact events.  This programme will enables new members to learn our style in more depth and test themselves regularly at competitions and fight nights.

Master Wallace has a wealth of knowledge in sparring which he has gained over the years since he first started training in 1977.  During his own competitive career, he won a great number of National Medals in Taekwon-Do and also trained in Boxing in Arbroath and Dundee.  He was also the UK Assistant Coach for 3 years and the Scottish National Coach for 4 years for ITF Scotland.  During that time he travelled to many European and World Championships as the Team Coach.

In this modern world with so many instances where your personal safety may be at risk, it is important to be able to look after yourself and get home safely.   At the academy it's their mission to teach and promote kickboxing as a martial art in its true and lucid form.  The training will be intense and will involve Bag and Pad Work, Boxing Training, Sparring and Strength and Conditioning Training.  The basis of this class is competition training, not just fitness.  As such, the class will be closed to allow for competition attendance.

Taekwon-Do Members may upgrade their current membership to include this class.  Students will be expected to compete as part of the Academy Kickboxing Team if attending this class.
