READY POSITION   Attacker: Narani Chunbi Sogi
Defender: Narani Chunbi Sogi
Note: All attacks must be performed right and left hand. 
        Examples shown are describing right hand attack.

Attack:

Napunde Gunnun So Baro Jirugi

Defence:

Move right foot forward and form Annun or Nuinja Sogi.  Simultaneously attack the opponent’s neck with Annuro Sonkal Taerigi using the right hand and perform Wae Sun Sonkal Makgi with the left

Counter:

Shift right foot forward to form right Gunnun Sogi and execute Bandae Bandalson Taerigi to opponents throat

Attack:

Nuinja So Napunde Bakuro Sonkal Taerigi

Defence:

Shift to form right Dwit-Bal Sogi and execute Sang Sun Palmok Momchau Makgi

Counter:

Shift left foot to form left Gunnun Sogi and execute Dwijibo (Upset) Bandae Jirugi to opponent's floating ribs.  Shift foot position and bring right back foot up and place beside left foot, form Narani Sogi and execute Sonkal Yop Taerigi to back of opponent's neck.

Attack:

Gunnun So Baro Naeryo Yop Joomuk Taerigi

Defence:

Move left foot back forming Right Gunnun Sogi whilst executing Chookyo Makgi with the left hand.

Counter:

Step to the right with the right foot forming Narani Sogi, executing Wae Soopyong Palkup (Single Horizontal Elbow) Taerigi to opponents jaw.  Slip right foot to rear forming a left Gunnun Sogi executing a right Bandae Jirugi to solar plexus.

Attack:

Gunnun So Baro Bandal Jirugi

Defence:

Turn inside slightly and form Narani Sogi and simultaneously execute Napunde Yobap Sonkal Makgi with the left hand and and Bandal Jirugi to opponent’s jaw with the right hand.

Counter:

Step to the right and position right foot to form right Gunnun Sogi whilst executing Wi Palkup (Upper Elbow) Taerigi with the left arm, under opponents jaw.

Attack:

Unarranged sequence - any of the above attack techniques.
Left hand may differ from right.

Defence:

Student to compile defence sequence using any of the above blocks and stepping sequences.

Counter:

Optional hand counter.

 

Notes:

1.

Ensure blocking and attacking tools are focused accurately on the appropriate targets.
2. Ensure reaction force is used at all times – no one handed techniques.
3. Correct stances are only required at the point of contact with the opponent.  
Additional body shifting may be required if there are different opponent heights exercising. 
4. Ensure sparring exercise is carried out using dynamic techniques.
5. It must be note that different stances and body shifting may be necessary if partners are of different heights.  In some cases the focus point of the counter will have to be redirected to another target or in some cases change routine.
