CLOSE QUARTER COUNTER MEASURES

  Note: All attacks must be performed right and left hand.

Attack:

Opponent grips arm with cross-hand grab

Defence:

Place left hand on top of opponents grabbing hand.  Raise hand combination upwards and force knife hand into opponents forearm until opponents knife hand is in vertical position

Counter:

Step back and apply pressure to gooseneck lock and take to ground.

Attack:

Attacker grips arm with same side hand grab

Defence:

Step right leg in and attack opponents motor nerve on the forearm with a downward knifehand strike whilst releasing grabbed arm in a twisting motion

Counter:

Follow through using right arm and execute elbow strike to opponents jaw

Attack:

Attacker grabs lapels with twin hand grip

Defence:

Side shift and execute palm heel strike to opponents jaw. (Body must turn to remove target area). Using opposite hand apply an inverted arm grip on opponents arm

Counter:

Re-align hand position and apply wrist press and take opponent down to ground.

Attack:

Attacker applies a rear throat arm strangle hold

Defence:

Turn inward and strike, thrust, stamp to release strangle effect on throat

Counter:

Bring left hand up and grab attackers right hand raise and loop right hand under opponents right arm and grip opponents hand with both hands. Apply figure four lock, twisting rearwards, against shoulder rotator-cuff and take opponent to ground.

Attack:

Attacker Grabs Hair

Defence:

Execute straight fingertip thrust to opponents throat with right hand.

Counter:

Grab opponents hand, dropping head and apply “golf club” grip at the back of the attacker’s wrist with both hands.  Raise arm and step outward from opponent, under arm spin motion and apply a spinning inward arm break.  Hold tension on wrist, step nearest leg over opponent’s leg and throw to floor.  Hook leg up as opponent begins to fall.

Attack:

Attacker performs right hook with forefist

Defence:

Defenders blocks attack with left hand side-front block and performs a forefist punch attack simultaneous to attack bicep in order to immobilise the arm.

Counter:

With the left hand still under the attacking tool, grab the attackers wrist with the right hand and twist the wrist until the attackers Sonkal is vertical.   Loop the left hand under the attackers fist and grab the attackers wrist along with the right hand.  Step back and apply a gooseneck wristlock and take opponent to the floor.  (Try s-shape and inverted gooseneck variations of the wrist lock)
