FAREWELL ANNOUNCEMENT
Mr Jonathan Burns II Degree

As most of you now know, we have to announce that Mr Burns II Degree will be leaving us at the end of January.  Mr Burns has been with us for over 6 years as he started teaching when we moved to our first full time premises at Justice Mill Lane in September 2003. As you know, Mr Burns was married in July 2009 and has various projects which he is now looking into. He is currently in the process of writing a book which he is hoping to publish in the near future and we wish him every success in this venture and with all he chooses to do in the future. We are obviously sad to see him go, but appreciate that he has other things to fulfill.

Mr Burns has been a great asset to our academy over the years and has definitely added to the energy within our kids classes with his particular way of teaching. We know that everyone will miss him, but we are sure you will all join us in wishing him well.

CONGRATULATIONS

On behalf of the academy, we would like to pass on our congratulations to Master Mark Hutton on his promotion to 7th Degree Master at the IIC in Benidorm on Saturday 26th September.  Master Hutton VII Deg pictured below (left) with Master Gordon Wallace VII Deg.
TEAM BUILDING - BEDLAM PAINTBALL
Nine students from the academy attended a team building paintball day on Saturday 24th October at Bedlam in Edzell.   The day consisted of 4 missions in the morning, lunch and then 4 further missions in the afternoon.  Unfortunately the weather turned in the afternoon but that did not hinder them from doing commando rolls through the woods and throwing grenades into enemy territory.  We hope to arrange another one next year.

We were lucky enough to be approached in June 2007 by Producers at the BBC to ask if we would like to participate in filming a Children's BBC2 Programme called DSD (Do Something Different).   We had never heard of the show but it sounded great fun and we were sure the kids would love to get involved and we were right.
