TEAM BUILDING

ALTON TOWERS 2011
Friday 29th July

Leaving Aberdeen on Thursday 28th July, we travelled down to Stoke where we stayed the night before spending Friday at Alton Towers. The trip was long but well worth it.

Our tickets allowed us into the park an hour before opening time which allowed us to get on Nemesis 3 times without a queue and once on the front of Air with a small queue. For those who hadn't been on a rollercoaster before, this was quite daunting, but all overcome their fears and managed on every ride - even Oblivion!!

This then moved onto Ripsaw which saw many a face getting soaked. After a pitstop for some donuts, we went onto Rita and Thirteen. None of us had been on these before so didn't know what to expect. After Hex, we broke a record getting on Oblivion 4 times in a row without queuing. Fantastic!!

The next ride was Enterprise where Katy made some very interesting noises for the whole ride. After this was Submission then onto Sonic Spinball. This ride proved to be more fun than expected but it was stopped with 3 carts of our group after a kid put a ball into the track somewhere.

We ended the day on the Rapids for a bit of a soaking (for some) before travelling home. We arrived back in Aberdeen at around 3am thanks to Master Wallace's driving. Although we were all very tired, we look forward to repeating the trip. It was definately one of the best team building trips we've been on to date.

Team Building / Activity Day - June 2006

Sixteen students and instructors enjoyed a Team Building and Activities day at the Highland Adventure Centre in Blairgowrie which consisted of Wall Climbing, Abseiling, Archery and some very interesting team building games !!  It was a great day and the weather was very kind to us.

Our Archery champion was Mr Andrew Harthill (I Deg), followed in second place by Brian Storie and in joint third place by Mr Gordon Wallace (VI Deg) and Colin Shearer.  Some of the scores we will not mention !!

It was an excellent day out with first class instruction.  We will definitely be repeating it - maybe we'll make a weekend of it next time !!
