OUR DAY WITH THE BBC
DSD - Do Something Different

Our Story
We were lucky enough to be approached in June 2007 by Producers at the BBC to ask if we would like to participate in filming a Children's BBC2 Programme called DSD (Do Something Different).  We had never heard of the show but it sounded great fun and we were sure the kids would love to get involved and we were right.

The two presenters, Sam Nixon & Mark Rhodes were finalists in the TV show Pop Idol and the kids were really excited to meet them.

Filming took place at the academy on Saturday 7th July 2007 and the day started at 8:30am and ended at around 6:00pm.  It was a long but very enjoyable day for everyone involved and the students really did us proud and were very professional in front of the camera.

The students who took part in the filming were Kerri Jamieson, Rhona McMillan, Dylan Craig, Clare Fordyce, Gordon Trinder, Rogan Rennie, Dean Sutherland, Ewan McMillan, Cameron Stewart and Julie Whyte.  The students are pictured above along with Sam & Mark, the Crew, Master Wallace and Mrs Wallace.

We  really had a fantastic day with Sam & Mark and the rest of the crew and thoroughly enjoyed seeing how the show was put together.  The programme turned out excellent and we do hope you managed to watch the show!!  The programme was shown on Thursday 19th July 2007.  If you missed it, we have a DVD showing the whole programme along with edited highlights showing our scenes only.  This DVD was created by Brian Storie who is a 4th Kup in our Senior Class.  Brian also made copies for us to present to all the students who participated in the day.

Here are some photos of our day.
